In this role you will support the delivery of exceptional fiber internet, voice, and technology services in the rural communities NEIT serves. This position combines customer service excellence with proactive sales efforts to strengthen customer relationships, grow revenue, and promote the company’s brand in existing and especially in emerging markets.
- The Specialist is responsible for assisting customers with new service requests, account changes, billing inquiries, and product education, ensuring a positive experience at every interaction.
- Provides customer service by assisting customers with billing inquiries, new service requests, service plan changes and disconnects, and service questions and concerns.
- Completes appropriate paperwork for service plan changes and disconnects.
- Handles disconnects and reconnects of services of customers with late payments.
- Performs collection functions on delinquent accounts.
- Completes credit checks on new customers as appropriate.
- Promotes and sells services to new and existing customers.
- Develops and sends correspondence to customers including letters, welcome packets, etc.
- Receive and process customer payments.
- Performs monthly billing routines and work with billing vendor in processing monthly subscriber billing.
- Work with customers in the development of display ads for cable television system advertising channel.
- Prepares monthly reports for areas of responsibility.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
- In addition, this role helps execute local market initiatives, supports community events, and identifies opportunities to increase customer engagement and adoption of company products and services.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of customer service experience. (Required)
- Previous experience in customer service, sales, or marketing (Highly Preferred)
- Telecommunications experience (Highly Preferred)
- Computer literacy (Required)
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred to better serve a diverse customer base.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
