Direct Care Behavioral Health Professional
No Experience Required—Paid Training Provided

Pay: $20.00 per hour; $21.00 per hour for overnight shifts

Position Summary
Immediate openings for Direct Care Behavioral Health Professionals to provide compassionate, structured supervision and support for foster children awaiting long-term placement.
Staff will care for up to three children at a time while maintaining a safe, stable, and home-like environment. No previous behavioral health experience is required. The agency will provide and pay for required training and BHP certification.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and care for children awaiting foster placement.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive home environment.
- Assist with meals, activities, hygiene reminders, daily routines, and bedtime routines.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children through patience, empathy, and consistency.
- Encourage positive behaviors and help children feel respected and supported.
- Complete required documentation and communicate with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
- Follow agency policies and maintain required certifications and training.
- Work collaboratively with coworkers to provide consistent, high-quality care.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license required; a vehicle will be provided for work-related transportation.
- Ability to pass all required background checks, including DHS checks.
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory background check results.
- Willingness to complete agency-paid BHP certification, orientation, and training.
- Interest in working with children and adolescents.
- Patient, dependable, flexible, and able to remain calm during challenging situations.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Available Shifts
- Morning shifts
- Afternoon and evening shifts
- Overnight shifts with a $1.00-per-hour differential
- Weekend availability may be required
- Shifts will generally range from 8 to 10 hours
Overnight employees will be hired specifically for overnight coverage. Day and evening staff will not be expected to rotate into overnight shifts.
