Milestone Oral Surgery and Implant Center (MOSAIC) is seeking a Dental Assistant for our private practice oral surgery office. MOSAIC needs a part-time dental assistant who can alternate and assist with both back office and front office duties (possibility of full-time in the future as the practice gets busier).
We are a modern oral surgery office with expertise ranging from full-mouth reconstruction (aka All-On-4) to wisdom tooth removal. Our oral surgeon and staff strive to provide excellence in surgical care administered in a friendly and compassionate manner.

New graduates are welcome, we are happy to train the right candidate. No previous dental experience is needed. Our staff will gladly work with you and train you as needed based on your experience as long as you are willing and open to learning new things.
Responsibilities:
· Welcoming and escorting patients from the reception area to the treatment area/room
· Answering phones, emails, and scheduling patients as needed and accordingly
· Checking in a patient for their appointment and collecting payment as needed
· Maintaining accurate patient records and reviewing the completion of registration forms, medical alerts, and signed consent forms
· Collecting and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs
· Able to get or fax a patient’s MD or PCP for medical clearance/records as needed
· Sending electronic prescriptions to the pharmacy as needed and giving patients the prescription instructions
· Able to call a patient’s insurance to verify coverage, and benefits, and submit claims as needed while recording information in the patient chart
· Providing preoperative and postoperative instructions for a patient's treatment/procedure
· Preparing patients for treatment/procedures and checkups while ensuring their comfort
· Recording treatment information in patient charts/records
· Knowledge of dental/surgical terminology and clinical procedures
· Helping with infection control by cleaning up a room completely, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments
· Setting up rooms, and instrument trays, preparing materials/equipment, and assisting our surgeon during treatment/procedures
· Undertake lab tasks as instructed or directed
· Able to take X-Ray (CBCT, Pano, and PA)
· Keeping all rooms well-stocked and ordering items and materials low in stock
· Assisting surgeons in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary
Requirements:
· The ability to take direction from the oral surgeon
· Willingness to learn and progress during the training period
· Works quickly, is organized and detail-oriented
· Must have good manual dexterity
· Professional appearance and attitude
· Must be able to stand during the workday
Qualifications:
· DA Certification
· X-Ray Certification/License
· CPR-BLS Certified
