We are seeking a talented, tenacious, and results‑driven engineer to join a multidisciplinary R&D team of electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists. Together, this group designs and delivers custom geolocation and digital communications systems that directly support national security missions.

Role Overview
You will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of advanced geolocation algorithms and fully integrated software systems. Core responsibilities include:
- Creative problem solving and researching or inventing new geolocation techniques
- Implementing algorithms in efficient, production‑ready software
- Testing solutions with real‑world mission data
- Deploying systems to front‑line customer environments
- Working across systems engineering, development, integration & test, deployment, and O&M
This environment demands flexibility, curiosity, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, product managers, and mission stakeholders, while also providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, architect, develop, test, deploy, and operate fully integrated software systems
- Build and maintain infrastructure enabling modern integrations between internal applications and third‑party services
- Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including product, design, engineering, and external partners
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to senior technical staff
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
- Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies, and introduce innovative solutions where appropriate
- Work across all functional areas, from systems engineering through deployment and mission support
- Proactively propose improvements to applications, frameworks, and processes
- Operate independently with minimal supervision—self‑starting is essential
Required Background
- Expert knowledge of data structures, algorithms, modern design patterns, and data layers
- Expert‑level proficiency in Golang
- Strong passion for building internal solutions and owning enterprise‑wide application development
- Extensive experience designing and building high‑quality APIs
- Significant experience integrating internal and third‑party services
- Highly proficient in modern software engineering practices emphasizing testability and readability
- Proven ability to architect software systems for functionality, performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a software engineering discipline
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Skills
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for engineering and scientific applications in Linux environments
- Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
- Familiarity with JavaScript and modern web frameworks (Vue.js, React)
- Experience automating enterprise workflows
- DevOps and cloud experience (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigation, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
