Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Theater Director (paid per production) / Acting Coach (paid per hour) to lead and inspire aspiring actors and performers. Duties
- Develop curriculum plans for acting classes that align with educational standards and artistic goals
- Lead rehearsals, directing students through scene work and stage movement
- Provide personalized coaching to students on voice projection, diction, emotional expression, and character development
- Organize and oversee theatrical productions, including set design, choreography (with the help of a dance choreographer), costume coordination, and stage management
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and respectful communication among students
Skills
- Experience in theater production, acting coaching, or related performing arts fields
- Background in curriculum development for arts education programs
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies suitable for working with children and teens
- Ability to teach visual & performing arts with an emphasis on creative expression and performance skills
- Experience in working with students across various age groups
- Skills in lesson planning
- Excellent communication skills to motivate students and facilitate effective learning experiences
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a lively and engaging atmosphere
