Lumetrics develops and manufactures precision non-contact thickness measurement and optical inspection systems and Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensors for a variety of markets including ophthalmic, medical balloons & tubing, automotive, and laminated glass, AR/VR and beyond. Our OptiGauge and Lumetrics Wavefront Sensor (LWS) family of products provides precision thickness measurement technology, which is fast, accurate, flexible, and scalable to most QA laboratories, R&D centers, or production lines.
This position is an on-site, full-time role.
Essential job functions include, but not limited to, the following:
● Use electrical, optical, and mechanical engineering principles to design complex automated instruments
● Establish rapport with customers and assist with project/product development
● Understand and build new novel optical assemblies including but not limited to interferometers, imaging systems, illumination systems etc.
● Align and troubleshoot complex optical assemblies and interferometers
● Complete multiple concurrent technical projects on time
● Assist in developing project quotes and timelines
● Acquire and analyze large datasets to determine system performance and prototype feasibility, while maintaining proper data integrity
● Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer service issues
● Travel domestically and internationally for new project installations or existing equipment support
● Occasionally work “international” hours for customers in different time zones
● Support the Sales, Production, R&D, and Finance departments, as required
● Participate in company strategy meetings, as required
Qualifications:
● BS or higher in an optics related engineering field
● 3+ years’ engineering experience, preferably in optics, metrology, or automation
● Experience with 3D printing (FDM, MSLA)
● Proficiency with optical design software such as Zemax
● Familiarity with Matlab, LabView, and other technical applications
● Candidate should be self-motivated, conscientious, pay extreme attention to detail, exhibit strong observational, listening and public speaking skills, and possess excellent writing skills
This position requires in-office presence and does not offer a relocation package. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $85,000 – $130,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience.
