Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable K-8 Math Tutor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of various subjects, including but not limited to Elementary and Middle School level Math. This role involves working one-on-one with students to enhance their learning experience, build their confidence, and help them achieve their academic goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalized tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
- Implement lessons from Auburn Tutoring personalized curriculum plan to help students reach their learning objectives.
- Assist students in understanding complex concepts in K-8 level math.
- Employ various teaching methods to engage students effectively and accommodate different learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and adjust tutoring strategies as needed to ensure comprehension and retention of material.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student tutoring progress and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically through tutoring.
- Experience working with children is preferred.
- High School Diploma, equivalent or above.
- Must be available to tutor Mon/Wed/Fri 2:30pm-6pm for on-site tutoring sessions in COLFAX, CA 95713 (guaranteed hours).
- Complete in-person training at Auburn Tutoring location in Auburn upon hire (paid training)
- Passed an Integrated 2 or equivalent upper division college level math class with a B grade or higher.
- Ability to pass a math proficiency test.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
