DS Disposal Class B CDL Driver
DS Disposal is seeking a qualified Class-B CDL Company Driver to deliver and
haul roll-off containers to various local job sites and to the landfill in and
around the Cedar Rapids, IA area. The successful candidate will have
experience working in operating large commercial vehicles. This position will
require a mandatory alcohol/drug screen and MVR check.
Responsibilities:
● Conducts a pre-trip vehicle inspection to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, reporting any issues to the manager.
● Turns in pre-trip form, complete mileage, and maintenance forms
● Drives between terminals to transport parcels
● Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or vehicle damage to manager
● Operating and maneuvering specialized vehicles such as trucks equipped with compactors, lift gates, or roll-off containers.
● Loading waste materials onto the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
● Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
● Maintaining accurate records of waste pickups, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance.
● Ensuring the proper disposal of waste materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
● Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
● Prioritize safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibilities while performing their duties
● Work environment requires time outdoors in changing weather elements and road conditions
● Ability to fix vehicles in an accurate and timely manner
● Responsible for maintaining vehicle appearance
● Communicating effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, other team members, and customers
● Weekly schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7 AM - 4 PM, occasional Saturdays
Some mandatory overtime is occasionally required
Qualifications:
● Must possess a valid CDL Class-B driver's license and have a clean driving record
● Must be 21 years of age
● Demonstrate physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects
● Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, climbing, walking, etc
● Be able to use GPS and follow routes
● Understand traffic rules and regulations
● 2 years experience
● Team player
● Positive attitude
● Good work ethic
● Growth mindset, be a willing learner
● Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
● Ability to pass a DOT physical
