RIST Transport Ltd. is looking for a Experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician in the Geneva, NY Area.
Our business is growing and we are looking to expand our team.You will perform a wide range of mechanical duties on tractors, tanker and box trailers. Pay rate is based on experience.
Duties include
- Preventive maintenance
- Equipment repair.
A Forklift Mechanic diagnoses, repairs, and maintains material handling equipment like forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks, performing preventative maintenance (oil changes, inspections) and complex fixes (hydraulic, electrical, engine) to ensure safe, efficient operation, often involving reading technical manuals, managing parts, and completing detailed service logs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine and emergency service, including fluid changes, brake work, tire replacement, and servicing hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify mechanical and electrical faults.
- Component Replacement: Repair or replace worn or broken parts, from simple components to major assemblies like transmissions, motors, and masts.
- Safety Compliance: Perform safety inspections, ensure all work meets regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including service logs.
- Parts Management: Maintain inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read schematics, use diagnostic software, and operate various tools.
- Physical Abilities: Dexterity, physical strength (lifting up to 100 lbs), and ability to work in various conditions.
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and organizational skills
