About the Position: We're looking for someone who wants more than just another maintenance job. Our maintenance team plays a huge role in the experience our residents have every day. Whether you're repairing an air conditioner, helping a resident with a maintenance request, preparing an apartment for move-in, or assisting with one of our community events, you'll be one of the faces that helps make Sun Bay feel like home.
This is a FULL TIME position.
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- One-hour lunch (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)
- One Week On Call Rotation Every 4-5 Weeks
Some weekends are required. During our annual turnover season (typically July and August), our team works an intensive schedule for approximately 2-3 weeks, including weekends, to prepare apartments for incoming residents. Additional hours are also required during community events throughout the year. All required/accrued overtime and event hours are compensated accordingly. Because our maintenance staff works together to accomplish daily goals, dependable attendance and punctuality are extremely important.
No two days are exactly alike, but responsibilities include:
- Completing apartment maintenance requests promptly and professionally
- Preparing apartments for new residents, including repairs, painting, and inspections
- Troubleshooting plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance issues
- Performing preventative maintenance throughout the property
- Walking the community to identify safety concerns and maintenance needs
- Assisting with grounds appearance and curb appeal
- Working closely with the leasing office to coordinate move-ins, transfers, and resident needs
- Communicating professionally with residents, vendors, and coworkers
- Participating in emergency maintenance when needed
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of resident events and community activities
- Helping wherever needed-even when the task falls outside your normal responsibilities
Preferred qualifications include:
- Apartment maintenance experience preferred
- HVAC certification is a plus
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliances, drywall, and painting
- Valid driver's license
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
A Position of Trust: Our maintenance staff has access to residents' homes and personal property every day. Because of that, integrity, professionalism, and respect are absolutely essential. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing Criminal Background Check.
Pay starts at $17/hr and then goes up to $18/hr after a 90 day probationary period. There are also opportunities for overtime.
