Water Works Laundromat in Newark, NJ is seeking a reliable, customer-oriented Laundromat Attendant to manage daily operations, assist customers, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will handle "Wash & Fold" orders with care and ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
Schedule & Pay
- Currently looking to fill 5 days a week for the 3pm to 10pm shift Wednesday -Sunday.
- 1 weekend day off every other week. Work on a Monday or Tuesday instead.
- $16.00 starting hourly pay, plus tips and potential raise after 3 month review.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers, answer questions about machine usage, and resolve issues promptly and politely.
- Wash & Fold Service: Professionally wash, dry, and fold drop-off and delivery orders according to customer preferences and company standards.
- Transactions: Accurately process cash and credit card payments using our POS (Point of Sale) system; provide correct change and receipts.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness by sweeping/mopping floors, wiping down machines, cleaning lint traps on a set schedule, and keeping the restroom stocked and tidy.
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor machine performance and report any maintenance needs or "out of order" units to management immediately.
- Safety & Security: Ensure the store remains a safe environment for all guests; manage trash removal and keep walkways clear of debris or spills.
Requirements
- Communication: Fluency in English is required.
- Bilingual Skills: Strongly Preferred. Ability to speak Spanish is a significant plus.
- Skills: Basic math and computer skills for POS transactions; high attention to detail for folding and organizing laundry.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 30+ lbs (laundry bags/detergent).
- Reliability: Punctual and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
