Enrichment activities are available five days per week for students in grades 7-12. Activity leaders work under the supervision of the Teen Program Administrators to effectively lead activities and workshops. Teen Program sites are Margaret L Hopkin Middle School (grades 7-8) and Grand County High School (grades 9-12). Activity leader shifts are Monday through Thursday 1:30 – 5:00 and on Friday from 1:00-5:00, which includes an hour of prep time per shift. This position runs Monday-Friday following the Grand County School District school year and is a 5 hour per day commitment.
BEACON Afterschool is a fluid educational environment where needs can change daily. We are seeking someone with adaptability and flexibility. Professional development and on the job training is provided.
Open positions:
Hourly - $21/hr for 5-25 hours per week
- Plan and lead daily activities.
- Provide a safe, positive learning environment for students.
- Prepare lesson plans that meet program requirements.
- Show up on time and ready to teach.
- Able to work in a shared space.
- Assist with Family Events as requested.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively as needed.
- Follow-through with commitment to program schedule for at least one quarter. Whole school year preferred.
- Ability to meet the needs of students as individuals.
- Enjoys working with middle school-aged students.
- 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
