Position Summary
The HVAC Installation Technician performs equipment installations, retrofits, and replacements across a wide range of commercial and industrial systems — including RTUs, split systems, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, DX units, and large package equipment. This role requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and professionalism in mission-critical environments.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, retrofit, and replace commercial / industrial HVAC/R equipment and systems
- Perform equipment start-up, commissioning, and system verification
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Install electrical components, refrigerant piping, and ductwork per code
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades
- Document installation work using ServiceTitan field service management software
- Follow all OSHA, EPA, and local code compliance requirements
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment professionally
Requirements
- Commercial HVAC/R installation experience
- EPA Certification required (Universal preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Professional appearance, communication, and ability to work within a project team
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of RTU installation and replacement experience
- Experience with package unit installations up to 120 tons
- Experience with chiller, boiler, or central plant installation projects
- OSHA-10 certification a plus
- HVAC trade school graduate a plus
Schedule
- Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8-hour workdays | Some flexibility required for project completion
