Dall'Inizio DaySchool serves children from the age of 6 weeks thru the start of kindergarten and in the summer children up to 5th grade. We are growing fast and are now seeking a new teacher to join our team. Teachers must be able to obtain FBI Clearances, Criminal Background Check, and Child Abuse Clearances, along with a health assessment including a TB test.
Our school is a Reggio Emilia Inspired School and we use the Emergent Curriculum to build meaningful activities and experiences in the classroom and Center-Wide. Strong candidates will present knowledge of child development and have experience completing lesson plans, child development assessments, and in following Department of Human Services Regulations and Keystone STARS requirements. Dall'Inizio DaySchool holds a dual license. We are licensed by the PA Dept. of Human Services and the PA Dept. of Education.
TITLE:Classroom Teacher
DESCRIPTION:The teacher is responsible for the care and education of the children as part of a teaching team and functions as a team leader. The teacher will plan or help plan and implement the daily program activities based on the curriculum chosen by the Administrator. The teacher will coordinate activities with the assistant teacher. He/She will also assist the Director with designated activities.
ACCOUNTABILITIY: The teacher will report to the Assistant Director and Director
QUALIFICATIONS:The Teacher shall have attained a minimum of a high school diploma, a CDA or higher is preferred.
SALARY SCALE:The pay range is based on the candidate’s level of education and previous experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, supervising, and implementing the program for childcare in accordance with the policies and philosophy of Dall’Inizio DaySchool.
- Gear the program to meet the needs of individual children, with concern for their interest, challenges, special talents, and individual styles and paces of learning.
- Consider individual children in relationship to their cultural and socio-economic background.
- Treat children with respect and dignity.
- Help children become aware of their roles as integral members of the group.
- Be responsible for the ordered arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the childcare classroom.
- Assume an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
- Participate in the recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.
- Implement methods of effectively utilizing the services of the teacher/assistant teacher.
- Plan and implement methods of establishing a positive relationship with the children’s families and caregivers.
- Conduct parent/caregiver conferences.
- Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to the confidentiality policy at all times.
- Assist with the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children.
- Responsible for completing observations, assessments, and individualized lessons for his/her primary group of children. Dall’Inizio DaySchool utilities The Ounce Scale (for birth to age 3) and Work Sampling (ages 3-5) as assessment tools. These assessments must be completed every October, February, and May. Each teacher is responsible for completing the appropriate assessment tool for each reporting period. These assessments are shared with the family member and signed by both the family and the teacher.
- As a Keystone STAR Facility, we also complete the Ages and Stages Assessment Tool at the child’s 45 day milestone of enrollment withDall’Inizio DaySchool. This tool gives us a base assessment to use as a tool for planning individualized curriculum. These assessments are shared with the family member and signed by both the family and the teacher.
- Teachers are also responsible to documenting weekly observations on enrolled children within his/her primary group and classroom group. These observations are tools for planning curriculum and document each child’s development.
