Position: Preschool/Elementary After Care Staff
Reports To: After Care Director
Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt,Temporary
Schedule: 41 Weeks (August - May), Monday - Friday 3:00 - 6:00 p.m.

Job Summary:
The Preschool/Elementary After Care Staff plays a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for students after school hours. This role ensures children are cared for in a Christ-centered atmosphere, engaging them in age-appropriate activities while maintaining order and safety. The After Care Staff works closely with the After Care Coordinator to support students' well-being and facilitate a smooth transition from the school day to after-care programming.

Received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Ability to work well with children, parents, staff, and administration.

Patient, caring, and gentle demeanor.

Strong communication skills for interacting with parents and students.

Ability to maintain a safe and engaging environment for young children.

Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Essential Functions:
-
Foster a loving and Christ-centered environment for children in after care.

Supervise and engage students in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and spiritual development.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized space for children.

Ensure students remain within designated areas and are always under supervision.

Escort children around campus in an orderly manner during transitions between activities.

Monitor supplies and notify the After Care Coordinator when restocking is needed.

Maintain organization within assigned groups using a structured rotation system.

Communicate effectively with parents regarding student behavior and after-care updates.

Notify the After Care Coordinator of any ongoing issues or concerns.

Respect confidentiality and uphold professional ethics when handling student, parent, or staff information.

Return classrooms and activity areas to their original condition at the end of each session.

Adapt to changing needs and be willing to assist in other duties as needed.
Physical and Safety Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with children for extended periods.

Lift and carry up to 25–30 lbs as needed.

Clear verbal communication and hearing abilities for supervising and interacting with students.

Visual acuity to monitor students and maintain a safe environment.
