NYLO Fitness is a private personal training facility in Tribeca focused on strength, movement quality, longevity, and high level client care. We work with clients who value precision, consistency, and expert coaching in a focused, professional environment.
We are looking for an experienced personal trainer to join our coaching team. The right candidate is thoughtful, reliable, technically skilled, professionally presented, and committed to helping clients build strength, improve movement, and maintain long term health.
About NYLO Fitness
NYLO is not a traditional gym. We are a private training environment built around individualized coaching, careful programming, and a high standard of professionalism. Our clients include busy professionals, parents, athletes, older adults, postpartum clients, and individuals returning to training after injury or time away from exercise.
Our training philosophy prioritizes mobility, stability, consistency, complexity, and intensity. We believe strength is an investment in a more capable life. Aesthetics matter, but they are built through a foundation of movement quality, resilience, and progressive strength training.
NYLO is a free weights based facility. We do not rely on machines. Our coaches must be highly experienced with barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and bodyweight strength training. Trainers must be able to demonstrate, explain, coach, and modify movements such as the back squat, front squat, deadlift, kettlebell swing, chin up, press, row, lunge, carry, and hinge with excellent technique.
Position Overview
The NYLO personal trainer is responsible for delivering high quality one on one training sessions, building thoughtful programs, maintaining a professional client experience, and contributing to the standard of the facility.
This role is for career personal trainers who want coaching to be their primary professional focus. It is not a fit for someone looking to train clients occasionally around another primary career in acting, music, dance, real estate, or another unrelated field.
Responsibilities
Conduct personal training sessions in a professional, focused, and client centered manner.
Design and execute individualized programs based on each client’s goals, training history, movement quality, injuries, and current fitness level.
Coach clients through strength training, mobility work, conditioning, and foundational movement patterns with attention to safety, progression, and long term development.
Modify exercises appropriately for clients based on ability, injury history, mobility limitations, pregnancy or postpartum status, age, and training experience.
Support clients with goals including strength, body composition, mobility, athletic performance, endurance, longevity, and general health.
Perform or assist with initial assessments, including movement screening, body composition analysis, grip strength testing, work capacity evaluation, and diagnostic training sessions.
Track client progress and adjust programs appropriately over time.
Communicate clearly with clients regarding goals, expectations, scheduling, and training priorities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment.
Represent NYLO with professionalism inside and outside the facility.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate understands that great personal training is both technical and relational. We are looking for someone who can build trust, hold clients accountable, and move them toward meaningful progress.
A strong candidate must be comfortable in a free weights environment and able to coach the major lifts with clarity, precision, and authority. This person should understand how to teach movement, build progression, manage intensity, and create safe training structure without relying on machines.
A neat, clean, professional appearance is required. NYLO is a private, high caliber training environment, and trainers are expected to present themselves in a way that reflects that standard.

NYLO Standards
All trainers are expected to be on time, prepared, professional, respectful of the space, and attentive to the client experience.
NYLO maintains a no street shoes policy on the gym floor. Trainers and clients may train in socks or indoor only training shoes.
Trainers are expected to keep the training floor organized, return equipment after use, and help maintain a clean and elevated facility experience.
We are selective about who we bring into the space. Professionalism, coaching quality, appearance, reliability, and client care must align with the NYLO culture.
