Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Truck Mechanic to join our maintenance team. Class A CDL preferred. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles and industrial equipment, including trucks, excavators, skid steers, power tools and other related construction equipment . The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with OEM parts, and proficiency in using hand tools and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a dynamic environment, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Must have reliable transportation. Shift starts promptly at 6am.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components on heavy equipment and trucks
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignments, and HVAC servicing
- Fabricate and modify parts using welding, soldering, and assembly techniques as needed
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures
- Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they lead to breakdowns
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
- Assist in the installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing machinery
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, forklifts, or tractor-trailers
- Familiarity with OEM parts and specifications for Caterpillar, John Deere, or similar brands
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with fabrication, welding, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and power tools
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including tire service and brake repair
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repair
- Prior experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week
