Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for a travel assignment in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting. This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple long-term care and rehabilitation units, including pulmonary, subacute rehab, memory care, and long-term care. Candidates should be comfortable floating between units and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Job Details
- Position: LVN/LPN – Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC)
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Shift: Night Shift | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
- Start Date: July 20, 2026
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Floating: Required across assigned LTAC, rehabilitation, pulmonary, and long-term care units
- Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
Requirements
- Active Maryland LPN/LVN License or Compact License
- Minimum 2 years of LPN/LVN experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- LTAC experience preferred
- BLS Certification required
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse patient populations, including long-term care, rehabilitation, pulmonary, dementia, and behavioral health patients
- Must be available to attend all required orientation days
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition, reporting findings to the RN or physician.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Monitor vital signs, pain levels, intake/output, and blood glucose.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, pressure injury prevention, and skin assessments.
- Manage feeding tubes, colostomies/ileostomies, Foley catheters, and other nursing procedures.
- Assist with mobility, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
- Follow infection prevention and isolation protocols.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and quality outcomes.
- Float to assigned units as needed while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Adhere to all facility policies, safety protocols, and documentation standards.
Pay: $32.00 - $37.00 per hour
Experience:
- LPN/LVN: 2 years (Required)
- Travel nursing: 1 year (Required)
- LTAC: 1 year (Preferred)
- Cerner EMR: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Active Maryland LPN/LVN License or Compact License (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
