Job Summary
Join our growing dental team as a Dental Assistant, where you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the dentist in providing high-quality clinical services. In this dynamic position, you will assist during a variety of dental procedures, prepare treatment rooms, maintain strict sterilization and infection control protocols, and help create a positive, comfortable experience for every patient. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, organizing equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready before each appointment.
- Welcome patients, review medical histories, record vital information, and ensure they are comfortable throughout their visit.
- Take high-quality digital dental radiographs while adhering to all radiation safety guidelines.
- Assist with impressions, temporary restorations, digital scanning, laboratory cases, and other clinical procedures as directed by the dentist.
- Educate patients on post-treatment instructions, oral hygiene, and preventive dental care.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records, clinical notes, and documentation using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and dental practice management software.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock operatories, and assist with ordering dental supplies as needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and safeguard patient confidentiality at all times.
- Support front office operations when needed, including scheduling appointments, answering phones, checking patients in and out, and processing payments.
- Foster a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment while delivering exceptional customer service.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred.
- Dental Assistant certification (where required by state regulations) is preferred.
- Current X-ray certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, oral anatomy, infection control procedures, and chairside assisting techniques.
- Experience taking digital dental radiographs.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
- Strong understanding of sterilization procedures and OSHA/CDC infection control standards.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative staff.
- Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, and commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
