LUCID On-Site Operations Manager
Position Overview
The LUCID On-Site Operations Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation
of the LUCID Driver Program at the local market level. This person serves as the primary on-
the-ground point of contact for drivers, the external Uber/LUCID team, fleet operations, vendors,
and internal management.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, highly communicative, and operationally
minded. They should be comfortable managing multiple priorities at once, holding drivers
accountable to performance expectations, monitoring fleet and program performance, and
resolving issues before they become larger problems.
This is a hands-on position. The successful candidate should not wait for problems to be
brought to their attention—they should actively monitor the operation and take ownership of
issues from start to finish.
Core Responsibilities
Driver Operations & Support
● Manage the daily on-site experience for LUCID drivers.
● Conduct thorough, hands-on, in-person orientations for new drivers using the
established LUCID orientation program.
● Ensure drivers understand program expectations, vehicle operation, Uber requirements,
and their responsibilities before beginning service.
● Ensure all required contracts and documentation are completed before a driver leaves
the office.
● Monitor driver attendance, shift participation, and overall compliance with program
expectations.
● Serve as a resource for drivers while maintaining appropriate accountability and
professionalism.
Driver Performance
Monitor driver performance throughout the day and address issues proactively. Key
performance indicators include:
● Acceptance rate — 100% or as close to 100% as possible
● Cancellation rate — 0% or as close to 0% as possible
Earnings per hour
● Trips per hour
● Overall productivity and engagement
Coach drivers who are not meeting expectations and monitor whether performance improves.
Escalate continued performance issues to management and support removal from the program
when necessary.
Drivers are expected to remain productive while online. When demand is slow in their current
area, drivers should be encouraged to reposition themselves to areas with stronger ride
demand.
LUCID / Uber Program Monitoring
● Maintain regular communication with the external Uber/LUCID team.
● Respond to requests, questions, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
● Monitor Grafana throughout the day to ensure vehicles are actively collecting LUCID
data.
● Investigate vehicles or drivers showing low data-collection performance and take
appropriate corrective action.
● Escalate issues that cannot be resolved on-site.
● Maintain awareness of overall program performance and identify potential issues before
they impact operations.
Communication is a key responsibility of this position. Requests from the Uber/LUCID
team should never sit unanswered or become lost in the day-to-day operation.
Fleet & Vehicle Operations
● Maintain accurate awareness of the location and status of every LUCID vehicle in the
market.
● Conduct regular physical lot checks.
● Ensure BOS accurately reflects vehicle locations, assignments, status, and relevant
notes.
● Coordinate vehicle swaps and replacements when needed.
● Monitor vehicle readiness and availability for upcoming driver shifts.
● Follow up on vehicles undergoing mechanical repairs, diagnostics, recalls, or other
service at LUCID dealerships.
● Stay on top of body shop repairs and other fleet vendors to minimize vehicle downtime.
● Identify and escalate delays that may affect fleet availability.
● Ensure vehicle issues, damage, repairs, and other relevant information are properly
documented.
● Update the VGM Maintenance Reporting Sheet daily with current vehicle
maintenance, repair, and service information.
Ensure maintenance information is accurate, current, and consistent across the VGM
Maintenance Reporting Sheet and BOS.
Daily Operational Ownership
The On-Site Operations Manager is expected to maintain a clear picture of the operation at all
times:
● Which vehicles are available?
● Which vehicles are assigned to drivers?
● Which vehicles are down or undergoing repair?
● Are drivers meeting performance expectations?
● Are vehicles actively collecting LUCID data?
● Are upcoming driver shifts and orientations prepared?
● Are there outstanding issues with Uber/LUCID, vendors, drivers, or vehicles?
● Is BOS accurate and up to date?
● Is the VGM Maintenance Reporting Sheet updated and accurate?
The expectation is to identify, address, document, and follow through on issues rather
than simply report them.
Communication & Escalation
Strong communication is essential to this role. The ideal candidate:
● Communicates clearly and professionally with drivers, vendors, Uber/LUCID, and
internal teams.
● Responds promptly to operational requests.
● Escalates issues appropriately when additional support is required.
● Keeps management informed of significant issues and recurring problems.
● Documents important events, decisions, and follow-up items.
● Ensures open issues have clear ownership and do not fall through the cracks.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
● Highly organized and detail-oriented
● Proactive rather than reactive
● Comfortable managing people and holding others accountable
● A strong communicator
● Comfortable working independently and making decisions
● Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working with technology, operational systems, and performance
dashboards
● Customer-service oriented while still being willing to enforce standards
● Hands-on and willing to be involved in the day-to-day operation
● Strong at problem solving and follow-through
● Comfortable working with drivers, vendors, dealerships, and external partners
● Able to recognize when something is going wrong and take action without waiting to be
told
