Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to determine health status and needs.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, injections, suturing, and basic laboratory specimen collection while maintaining sterile technique.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses by developing evidence-based care plans, coordinating follow-up care, and providing health education tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across specialties—such as cardiology, gastroenterology, behavioral health, and infectious disease—to optimize patient outcomes.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, and medical records management.
- Participate in telehealth consultations to extend access to care for remote or underserved populations while adhering to all clinical standards.
Skills
- Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Strong proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding is highly desirable.
- Skilled in performing advanced procedures including ultrasound-guided injections (e.g., dermal fillers), spinal taps, catheterizations, tube feeding management, and ventilator support.
- Knowledge of acute care settings including hospital medicine, ICU/CCU experience, emergency room procedures, trauma centers (Level I & II), and post-acute care environments.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using laboratory testing and medical imaging techniques like sonography; experience with infection control protocols is essential.
- Excellent client communication skills coupled with a strong understanding of physiology and medical terminology to educate patients effectively.
- Capable of working independently or within a team setting while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare standards such as NCQA or JCAHO accreditation requirements.
