Duties
- Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations, including arterial, venous, and abdominal studies, utilizing high-resolution sonography equipment.
- Assist with interventional radiology procedures such as catheter placements and minimally invasive vascular treatments, ensuring optimal imaging guidance.
- Monitor vital signs and maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to ensure patient safety and infection control standards are upheld.
- Collect and analyze physiological data related to blood flow, vessel structure, and cardiac function to support diagnostic evaluation.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams during cardiac catheterization procedures, providing real-time imaging assistance.
- Document all procedures thoroughly, including technical findings, patient responses, and procedural details in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Maintain proficiency in anatomy knowledge and medical terminology to accurately interpret images and communicate findings effectively.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Vascular Technologist or Sonographer with specialized training in vascular imaging techniques.
- Hands-on experience performing diagnostic evaluations within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center setting is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with interventional radiology procedures, including cardiac catheterization and minimally invasive vascular interventions.
- Knowledge of physiology related to cardiovascular health, vital signs monitoring, and aseptic technique protocols.
- Prior work in emergency medicine environments or cath labs demonstrates ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
- Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to vascular systems and the ability to adapt imaging techniques accordingly.
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or equivalent credential is required; ongoing education in interventional cardiology and sonography is preferred.
