We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver advanced critical care nursing to patients in the ICU, including monitoring vital signs, managing ventilators, and administering medications with precision.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and evaluation of physiological parameters.
- Utilize EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities, medical records, and treatment plans.
- Implement aseptic techniques during invasive procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, and specimen collection to prevent infections.
- Manage complex cases involving trauma, infectious diseases, or post-operative recovery, ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans aligned with patient needs.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding treatment options, medication administration, and discharge planning.
- Conduct triage assessments for incoming patients, prioritizing urgent cases based on severity and clinical presentation.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies to safeguard patient confidentiality.
- Assist in managing long-term care cases including memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health scenarios.
Experience
- Proven ICU experience within a hospital setting, preferably at a Level I or Level II trauma center.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Experience working with critically ill patients requiring ventilator support or advanced cardiac monitoring.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing processes.
- Background in emergency medicine, trauma medicine, or neonatal intensive care units (NICU) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing procedures.
- Prior experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to acute care scenarios.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Additional skills such as IV infusion management, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and wound suturing are advantageous.
