Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable Bilingual Lumber Yard Worker with forklift experience and strong knowledge of lumber and building materials. This role involves loading and unloading materials, assisting customers, organizing inventory, and safely operating forklifts. Candidates must be comfortable working outdoors and capable of handling physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to load and unload lumber and building materials
- Identify, pull, and stage correct lumber types and sizes for customer and job site orders
- Assist walk-in and contractor customers with loading and product selection
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment
- Receive, stock, and rotate inventory accurately
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed while operating equipment and handling materials
- Communicate effectively with yard team, drivers, and inside sales staff
Requirements:
- Prior experience working in a lumber yard or with lumber products
- Valid forklift certification or the ability to become certified
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable working in outdoor conditions year-round
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of common lumber sizes and grades
- Experience using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
