About Jesse Tree:Jesse Tree is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing eviction and homelessness. We provide crucial support and resources to individuals and families facing housing instability, helping them maintain their homes and regain stability in their lives.
Position Overview:Jesse Tree is seeking a passionate and dedicated VISTA AmeriCorps Development Coordinator to join our team. This role is pivotal in enhancing our development and fundraising efforts, enabling us to expand our reach and prevent eviction for more individuals and families. The VISTA Development Coordinator will work closely with the development team to build the organization's capacity through strategic planning, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
Main Objectives:
- Strengthen Fundraising Strategies and Campaigns
- Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising plans to increase donations and support for Jesse Tree’s programs.
- Research and identify potential grant opportunities and assist in the preparation and submission of grant applications.
- Coordinate and execute fundraising events, including planning, promotion, logistics, and follow-up activities.
- Enhance Donor Engagement and Stewardship
- Maintain a donor database to track contributions, manage donor relationships, and identify opportunities for engagement.
- Develop and implement strategies to recognize and thank donors, ensuring they feel appreciated and informed about the impact of their contributions.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of newsletters, annual reports, and other communication materials to keep donors updated and engaged.
- Expand Community Outreach and Partnerships
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to increase awareness and support for Jesse Tree’s mission.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage new supporters and volunteers.
- Represent Jesse Tree at community events, meetings, and other forums to promote the organization’s work and build connections.
Specific Activities:
- Fundraising Strategies and Campaigns:
- Collaborate with the development team to create detailed fundraising calendars and set measurable goals.
- Conduct research on prospective donors, foundations, and corporations to identify new funding sources.
- Assist in writing and editing grant proposals, ensuring they align with Jesse Tree’s mission and objectives.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including virtual and in-person activities, ensuring they are well-organized and successful.
- Donor Engagement and Stewardship:
- Maintain a comprehensive donor database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Create personalized thank-you letters, emails, and other communications to recognize donor contributions.
- Assist in developing content for newsletters, social media, and the organization’s website to keep donors informed and engaged.
- Organize donor appreciation events and activities to strengthen relationships and encourage continued support.
- Community Outreach and Partnerships:
- Identify and reach out to potential community partners and collaborators.
- Develop outreach materials, including brochures, presentations, and informational packets, to promote Jesse Tree’s mission.
- Participate in community events, fairs, and other activities to raise awareness about Jesse Tree’s programs and services.
- Work with volunteers to support outreach and partnership efforts, providing guidance and coordination as needed.
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for Jesse Tree’s mission and commitment to preventing eviction and homelessness.

- 10 days of paid time off and 10 federal holidays during the year of service.
