Quality Assurance Technician - Night Shift
Summary:
Provide technical expertise and drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance the quality and reliability of Interkraft paper products. Monitor incoming raw paper and finished product to ensure compliance with Interkraft specifications. Communicate with the production team to refine internal specifications. Work with plant managers to investigate paper complaints, help identify root causes and define/implement preventive measures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming and in-process testing for paper
- Perform testing of sample paper sent back due to customer complaints and assist with root cause analysis. Create test reports.
- Create metrics with test results and interact with production team.
- Review and maintain supplier COA (Certificate of Analysis) records and Interkraft paper grade specifications.
- Support quality supervisor and other quality functions as needed
- Perform paper grade testing and quality testing according to paper approval process.
- Communicate with technical supplier representatives to troubleshoot when issues arise.
- Train new employees about paper lab, attributes of new paper and Interkraft testing procedures.
- Provide support to satellite paper-converting facilities.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or High School education and relevant work experience.
- 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment, prefer paper packaging industry experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must have mathematics proficiency (ability to review data, create metrics with results).
- Mechanical aptitude, continuous improvement mindset and learning attitude.
- Ability to use hand tools, testing equipment, etc.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for long periods of time.
Pay and Hours
- $20/hour
- 8 Hour Shifts
- Monday Through Friday
- PTO and Holiday Pay
- Overtime May Be Required
