RJ Duke Sports is a family-owned business based in McKinney, Texas. Established in 2018, RJ Duke Sports sells sports cards, non-sports cards, and sports memorabilia, both in-person and online.
We are opening a new location in Little Elm, Texas, and we have several openings.
As a full-time sales associate, you will share responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the store. This position will require you to work 30-40 hours a week, including nights, weekends and around holidays. Since this is an hourly position, you will have opportunities to earn time-and-a-half pay if working more than 40 hours in a week.
Further, this position will require some travel to card shows, trade shows, and related conventions as our business regularly participates as a vendor at these types of events around the US. These events typically take place on weekends.
The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about sports cards, give excellent customer service, and fulfill duties both in our brick-and-mortar store and on our e-commerce platforms. She or he will also have opportunities to work in our “card breaking” operations both on and off of our live streams.
Responsibilities
- Offer both friendly and helpful service to customers.
- Maintain inventory and store operations.
- Preserving an orderly, presentable appearance of the store.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
Qualifications
- Must be age 21 or older.
- Minimum High school graduate or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years’ experience in a retail setting.
- Knowledge of sports cards, non-sports cards, or sports memorabilia is preferred but not required. However, you will need to be trained in this industry as most in-store customers expect employees to be experts in this field.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation in order to make local trips to the bank, post office, etc.
- Ability to travel long distances both driving and flying.
- Basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.
