Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings. Your expertise will help ensure the production of high-quality structures and equipment that meet industry standards. Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine fabrication requirements
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards
- Cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal and other metal components using plasma cutters, press brake machines, and hand tools
- Measure materials accurately with calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure proper fit and alignment
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely for material handling and assembly tasks
- Fabricate ductwork, piping, structural steel, and other mechanical components following blueprints and schematics
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or fabrication shops
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety procedures
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW, SMAW, and welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and machining equipment
- Knowledge of shop math including basic calculations for fabrication dimensions and material estimates
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping systems is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, soldering, assembly, rigging, and schematics interpretation
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication including ductwork manufacturing
- Ability to operate forklifts safely for material movement within the shop or construction site
- Understanding of manufacturing processes related to metal fabrication and mechanical fabrication standards
