We are seeking a temporary Cultural Resources Data & Digitization Technician to support the digitization of physical records within a federal agency’s cultural resources office. This short-term assignment (~60 days) focuses on scanning, organizing, and digitally archiving cultural resources documentation. The Technician supports archaeological, historical, and environmental programs by converting physical records into digital formats, maintaining organized file systems, and ensuring compliance with established data standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Classification: Temporary Call When Needed, Non-Exempt
Duty Station: Cleveland, TN (Fully onsite)
Scan and digitize physical cultural resources files (reports, site records, maps, and supporting documentation)
Maintain quality control of scanned documents (legibility, accuracy, completeness, and OCR accuracy)
Ensure protection of sensitive cultural resource information, including archaeological site location data, in accordance with federal and agency confidentiality requirements (e.g., NHPA Section 304)

Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic familiarity with cultural resources documentation (e.g., archaeological reports, Section 106, NEPA)
Experience working with document management systems, shared drives, or records repositories (e.g., SharePoint or similar platforms)
