Ascent Surgery Center is seeking a qualified Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse to provide patient centered nursing care to infant through the geriatric patient populations while addressing the psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
PRE-OP/PACU RN Responsibilities:
- Perform initial admission assessments and develop individualized patient care plans.
- Carry out orders, educate the patient and/or family, start discharge planning and teaching.
- Communicate with the surgeon, anesthesia, and operating room nurse.
- Assuming patient care post anesthesia, monitoring and assessing the patient’s physiological status.
- Providing a safe and comforting environment.
- Evaluating outcomes and response to treatments, medications, and or any interventions.
- Educating patient and family/responsible person on post op care and discharge instructions.
Requirements:
- Valid Texas State license, ACLS, PALS, and BLS
- Minimum of 2 years of ER, ICU, PACU, or outpatient experience.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements
- Adequate computer knowledge and skills necessary to navigate documentation programs.
