Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Roller to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in food handling and safety practices. As a Sushi Roller, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi rolls that meet our standards for taste and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare sushi rice and other ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
- Roll sushi using various techniques while ensuring consistency in size and presentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of all products served.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and notifying management when supplies are low.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders during peak hours.
- Participate in training sessions for new staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in a restaurant or catering environment, is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling ingredients.
- Familiarity with dietary department standards is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment related to sushi preparation.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
