Senior Accountant
A leading Healthcare Organization in the Asheville market, seeks a Senior Accountant to perform the following tasks:
- Maintain the general ledger to include the preparation and posting of journal entries, proper classification of revenue and expenses, account analysis and reconciliation, closing books, setting up new accounts, etc., as necessary.
- Review and test accuracy of revenue transactions.
- Analyze expense accounts to assure complete and accurate reporting of operating results.
- Prepare monthly financial statements to include balance sheet and income statement as well as statistical reports as required.
- Review and interpret monthly financial statements and make written and oral reports to Administrators as needed.
- Prepare general ledger balance sheet reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, debt, and inter-company activity.
- Track and prepare depreciation schedules for multiple locations.
- Prepare state sales & use tax returns.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements.
- Other tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
Must possess, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Must have, as a minimum, five (5) years’ experience in corporate general ledger accounting, preferably in health care accounting. Experience performing month-end close for multiple locations is highly preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate to expert Excel skills.
Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Must be able to prepare financial and other records in a systematic, neat, and legible manner.
Must be knowledgeable in auditing principles and practices.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, accounting and facility personnel, as well as vendors and support agencies.
