ROLE DEFINITION
Material Handler
-
The scope of work shall include all manufacturing and warehouse areas of the Piney Flats site.
This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Receives and checks incoming material for proper identification, quantities, and condition. Gathers samples when required, and stores material in proper location in warehouse. Receives finished goods from production, then stages, stores, and ships finished goods as necessary.

Checks received material for quantity, damage and proper identification. If correct, signs packing list and forwards slips to Accounting. Notifies supervisor when there are discrepancies.

Stores incoming materials in proper place.

Informs appropriate personnel of raw material received as required.

Distributes raw materials to Finishing department.

Prepares finished goods for shipment by staging, stacking, labeling, wrapping and loading trucks.

Reviews shipping paperwork for correctness, signs out shipments.

Maintains 5S standards for both raw materials and finished goods warehouse, including assigned outside areas.

Performs other duties as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.

Works safely and exhibits behaviors consistent with the Microporous core values including contributions to the ISO Quality program and Environmental Safety and Health Policy.

Performs critical Lead Material Handler responsibilities as needed or as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Production Manager.

Reports all fork truck incidents or damaged material to the Warehouse Supervisor.

Understands the importance of conformance to the environmental policy, procedures, and the requirements of the EMS.

Understands the role he/she plays in achieving conformance with the environmental policy, relevant procedures, and the requirements of the EMS, including emergency preparedness and response

Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.

Complies with all environmental, safety and health rules, policies, and programs established by the Company to the extent of training received.

Immediately reports any accidents, releases, or other incidents to the Warehouse Supervisor

Recognizes that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health, and safety is a condition of employment.
Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and move about in the warehouse area while lifting up to 50lbs involved.

Occasional lifting involved generally < 70 lbs. Some pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing required.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma/GED required. Previous Warehouse experience of 3+ years is a must to fill this roll..
