Position Summary
Bristow Montessori School is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to support our Aftercare Program. This position plays an important role in creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment for children at the end of their school day.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in the Aftercare Program.
- Assist lead and assistant teachers with daily classroom and school needs.
- Support children during indoor and outdoor activities, snack time, and transitions.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all students.
- Foster a warm, respectful, and positive environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Help maintain organized learning spaces and support positive behavior management.
- Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and school leadership.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as requested.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience working with young children is preferred.
- Montessori experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs is a plus.
