C&M Plumbing and Septic Tanks, Inc. is looking for a dependable, skilled, and professional Plumbing Service Technician to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who can independently diagnose plumbing problems, communicate professionally with customers, and complete residential and commercial plumbing repairs and installations safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on position for a plumber who takes pride in their work, keeps their vehicle and work area clean, and understands that customer service is just as important as technical skill.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and commercial plumbing systems.
- Install, repair, and replace plumbing fixtures, piping, valves, water heaters, toilets, faucets, sinks, showers, tubs, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot water pressure, drainage, leaks, sewer, and water supply problems.
- Perform plumbing service calls and determine the appropriate repair or replacement.
- Complete plumbing installations and repairs according to applicable codes and company standards.
- Work with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and plumbing equipment.
- Identify additional plumbing problems and communicate repair recommendations to customers.
- Provide customers with clear explanations of the problem and recommended solutions.
- Complete accurate job notes, photographs, materials, and other required documentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle, tools, and job site.
- Follow all company safety procedures and use required PPE.
- Work independently while also communicating effectively with the office, dispatcher, and other technicians.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service on every call.
- Participate in the company's on-call/emergency rotation as required.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous plumbing experience.
- Be able to diagnose plumbing problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Be dependable, punctual, and responsible.
- Be comfortable working independently in customers' homes and businesses.
- Have good communication and customer-service skills.
- Be able to use common plumbing hand and power tools.
- Be willing to learn new products, equipment, and plumbing techniques.
- Take pride in quality workmanship.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable driving history.
NC plumbing license is preferred but not required for the right candidate.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- Lift and carry plumbing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Work in attics, crawl spaces, garages, utility rooms, and other confined or difficult-to-access areas when required.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate a company vehicle and transport tools and equipment.
Schedule
Job Type: Full-time
C&M's normal business hours are:
Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
Friday: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM
Participation in the company's after-hours emergency/on-call rotation is required.
