Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through regular cleaning and disinfecting procedures
- Support outdoor activities like walking, playtime, and exercise to promote physical health and mental stimulation
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness and report concerns promptly
- Assist veterinary technicians or assistants with animal handling during procedures or treatments occasionally
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic, kennel, pet sitting, or pet grooming setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and restraint methods for dogs and other pets
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when moving supplies or assisting with outdoor activities
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Experience with pet grooming, dog training, or animal care enhances your ability to excel in this role
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial for managing outdoor walks and playtime in various weather conditions
- Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and a compassionate attitude toward animals are essential
