Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dietitian to join our healthcare team, committed to promoting optimal nutrition and health outcomes for diverse patient populations. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including nutritional analysis and diagnostic evaluations to identify specific needs.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles, weight management strategies, and chronic disease protocols.
- Provide expert counseling using motivational interviewing techniques to motivate behavioral change and enhance patient engagement.
- Manage specialized nutritional therapies such as tube feeding and parenteral nutrition in collaboration with medical teams.
- Document all interventions accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on nutrition-related topics, including geriatrics, long-term care nutrition, and dietary modifications for acute or chronic conditions.
- Supervise dietetic assistants or interns when applicable, ensuring quality standards are maintained within the dietary department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Dietetics, Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, or a related field; registered dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
- Proven experience in hospital settings or long-term care environments with expertise in acute care and geriatrics.
- Strong knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and disease processes.
- Hands-on experience with dietary management for weight loss, chronic disease management, and specialized nutritional therapies such as tube feeding.
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and other EMR systems used within healthcare facilities.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with motivational interviewing techniques to foster positive behavioral change.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership roles within the dietary department.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for patients’ needs.
