Job Summary
We are looking for both part and full-time cooks to join our team. Someone with 1-2 years cooking experience from scratch kitchens and has good knife work.
Evening shifts Tuesday - Sunday 2pm-10pm
Only previous restaurant cooking experience is required, most important is a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for the Spanish language and Mexican cuisine.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and perform food prep tasks according to recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and food processors
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food products in accordance with health regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Assist with menu planning and portion control to optimize food presentation and minimize waste
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills with slicing techniques and familiarity with food handling safety procedures
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to food safety management practices
- Experience with meal preparation, catering, or large-scale food production is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment
- Demonstrated understanding of safety standards in food production and equipment operation
