Responsibilities
- Assess damaged or worn furniture to determine the appropriate repair method and materials needed
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and sewing machines to disassemble, repair, and reassemble furniture components
- Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications to guide repairs and restorations accurately
- Perform manual cutting of fabrics, upholstery, or other materials to match original designs or specifications
- Handle heavy lifting safely when moving or repositioning furniture during repair processes
- Ensure attention to detail in finishing touches such as sanding, staining, upholstering, and sealing for a polished final product
Experience
- Proven experience in furniture repair, auto restoration, or related manufacturing fields
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and manual cutting equipment
- Strong understanding of interpreting technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
- Experience with manual handling and heavy lifting in a workshop environment
- Knowledge of upholstery techniques including sewing and fabric manipulation
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining high standards of quality and precision
- Prior work involving assembly or reassembly of furniture components is highly desirable
