Advanta Law Firm, PLC is seeking an experienced Michigan-licensed Attorney to assist with overflow civil litigation matters on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an independent attorney looking for flexible, high-quality litigation work without the administrative burden of managing a law practice.
The ideal candidate should have experience handling civil litigation matters in both Michigan state and federal courts, including drafting pleadings, motions, responses, discovery, legal research, case evaluation, court appearances, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation. Experience in employment litigation, business litigation, contract disputes, personal injury, civil rights, real estate litigation, or commercial litigation is preferred.
This position is intended for attorneys who can independently manage assigned matters while maintaining excellent communication with the firm. Strong legal writing, analytical skills, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential. The successful candidate must be licensed to practice law in Michigan and be in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan.
Work assignments may include drafting dispositive motions, responding to motions, conducting legal research, preparing discovery, taking or defending depositions, attending hearings, appearing at mediations, negotiating settlements, preparing trial materials, and assisting with complex litigation projects. Some work may be performed remotely, while court appearances and certain client meetings may require travel within Southeast Michigan.
Compensation is competitive and based upon experience, assignment type, and level of responsibility. This is a contract position, not an employment position, and offers flexible scheduling with the opportunity to receive a consistent volume of litigation work.
Attorneys interested in joining our litigation team should submit a resume, writing sample, and a brief summary of their litigation experience, including any jury trial, bench trial, motion practice, or appellate experience.
If you are an experienced litigator looking to expand your practice through contract litigation work with a growing law firm, we encourage you to apply.
