Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor animal patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners on proper care and treatment options.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Assist with kennel duties, including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals.
- Stay informed about advancements in veterinary medicine and techniques.
Experience
Candidates should have experience or knowledge in the following areas:
- Canine and Feline handling techniques to ensure safe interactions with various breeds.
- Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care.
- Understanding of animal husbandry practices to promote healthy living conditions.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is mandatory.
- Knowledge of kennel operations and dog training methods is beneficial.
- Basic understanding of animal physiology to assist in patient assessments.
