Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while maintaining strict infection prevention protocols
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe and effective care
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term dental health
- Assist with chairside procedures such as dental x-rays, medical imaging, and the use of dental equipment with precision and aseptic technique
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Dentrix Ascend accurately, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards
Requirements
- Valid Dental Hygiene license with current certification to practice in the state
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with team members
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Ability to perform dental x-rays and operate dental equipment safely and effectively
- Experience with infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and healthcare infection prevention practices
