Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong understanding of food safety and handling practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that each dish meets our standards of quality and presentation. This position requires the ability to work independently, with the focus of meeting our resident needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and/or lunch according to recipes and dietary guidelines. The menu is created and rotates every 4 weeks. The breakfast menu repeats every week.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking areas.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
- Proficiency with kitchen equipment, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
