Personnel Staffing, Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for a temp-to-perm opportunity. This position pays between $29 and $30 per hour.
The schedule follows a 2/2/3 rotation, with shifts rotating every two weeks between days and nights. Shift hours are 7:00 to 7:00.

Position Summary
The Electrical & Instrumentation Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting electrical and instrumentation systems within an industrial manufacturing environment. This role helps ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations by maintaining plant power distribution, process control equipment, field instruments, and related systems while following all company safety, quality, GMP, food safety, EMT, and SOP requirements.
Qualifications and Education
- Associate of Science degree in Electrical/Instrument Engineering Technology or a related two-year technical degree preferred.
- Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of formal education.
- HVAC certification is a plus.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Electrical & Instrument Technician in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with field instruments, PLCs, DCS, pneumatic systems, conveying systems, compressors, heat exchangers, underwater strand granulators, agitators, chillers, fuel-fired furnace heaters, motors, and process equipment is desired.
- Ability to read, understand, and revise electrical drawings.
- Ability to support a twenty-four-seven plant operation, including overtime, call-ins, shutdowns, and special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety guidelines, rules, regulations, plant safety programs, personal safety programs, and safe work practices.
- Perform all work safely and ensure equipment is operated and maintained properly without taking unnecessary risks to complete assignments.
- Follow all applicable Good Manufacturing Practices, quality standards, food safety guidelines, EMT requirements, and SOPs established by the company.
- Serve as an example of safety, quality, professionalism, and positive attitude when working with coworkers, contractors, engineers, and management.
- Interface with plant engineers and management regarding shutdowns, special projects, equipment issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions, procedures, and assignments provided by management.
Maintenance and Technical Duties
- Maintain electrical and instrumentation components, plant power supplies, distribution systems, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and support field instruments, control systems, motors, electrical systems, and process equipment.
- Maintain required spare parts and support inventory needs for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Prepare, implement, and complete preventive maintenance schedules to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
- Plan, procure, and implement approved in-plant modifications, improvements, and developments.
- Manage and coordinate electrical and instrumentation contract crews as assigned.
- Support shutdown activities, emergency repairs, and plant improvement projects.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and process control systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and revise electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, field instruments, control loops, motors, power distribution, and plant process equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, engineers, and contractors.
- Commitment to safe work practices, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment and Schedule
This position works in an industrial manufacturing plant environment and must be able to support a 24/7 operation. The role may require overtime, call-ins, weekend work, shutdown support, and work around operating equipment, process systems, and plant utilities.
