The Trial Court Accounting Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is accepting applications for Court Case Manager 1 (salary range 10).
This position provides customer service by responding to a wide variety of inquiries from the public, in person and by telephone, regarding Alaska Statutes and Rules of Court while ensuring legal advice is not provided. Responsibilities include receiving and processing new civil, domestic, small claims, and appellate case filings; reviewing and entering documents into the CourtView case management system; prioritizing and routing case files; and closing cases when appropriate. Additional duties include preparing judgments, issuing writs of execution and garnishment, receipting and disbursing funds in accordance with court and banking rules, processing cash bail and bonds, researching case records, preparing daily bank deposits when assigned, and maintaining accurate case documentation. The incumbent is cross-trained to perform duties across multiple court divisions, assists with workload backlogs, and provides support to other departments as needed to ensure efficient court operations.
You must be able to operate a 10-key calculator by touch, have working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel spreadsheets, and formulas.

The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency may receive consideration for advance step placement.- Employees working in this job classification will be considered for annual salary increases upon successful completion of a 1-year probationary period. This job classification will promote to salary range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
