DeWitt Lumber Company, a family owned and operated business, has a job opening for a result-driven Outside Sales Associate. This position is responsible for all sales duties, from generating leads to closing sales, which includes working closely with customers to determine their needs, answering their questions about our products and recommending the right solutions. You should be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as an Outside Sales Associate, you should stay up to date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance of a high standard. Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain strong sales and gross margin
- Excel in customer service and communication
- Manage relationships
- Complete estimates/quotes for building material jobs
- Accurate and timely paperwork
- Responsibly drive, and keep clean a company vehicle
- Maintain open orders
- Play a role in any sales support help if it is available
- Follow and achieve the department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
- “Go the extra mile” to drive sale
- Actively seek out customers in store
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Process POS (point of sale) purchases.
- Handle returns of merchandiseTeam up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
- Comply with inventory control procedures Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the stores design)
