Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Defense Sales Development Manager to lead the growth of our defense sector sales team. Duties
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our proprietary products, customers and partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the defense sector through targeted prospecting and outreach efforts
- Develop and deliver engaging product demonstrations that highlight technical capabilities.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve sales operations and drive efficiencies
- Collaborate with sales team to craft tailored solutions that meet complex defense requirements, ensuring technical feasibility and client satisfaction
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact through proposal development, negotiations, and closing deals
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies relevant to defense applications
- Conduct analysis of client needs and develop strategic proposals that align with their operational goals
- Follow and assist project management efforts for large-scale deployments, ensuring timely delivery and seamless integration of solutions while coordinating cross-functional teams
- Analyze sales statistics to identify areas of improvement
- Develop and execute innovative sales strategies
- Build a culture of urgency, accountability, integrity, and customer service
- Work with Business Development to create and implement sales strategies that align with organizational objectives. Monitor and analyze sales performance, adjust strategies as needed and report results to leadership.
- Ensure the sales team effectively utilizes existing business systems and processes
- Provide mentorship and coaching to empower team members to achieve their goals
- Address deficiencies by developing customized coaching plans, tracking progress, and recording improvement against them
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical sales or pre-sales roles within the defense sector
- Proven managerial or supervisor experience
- Strong proven leadership qualities
- Strong understanding of Oracle NetSuite or other ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling product demos and technical presentations to diverse audiences
- Excellent analysis skills with the capacity to assess client requirements and develop innovative solutions
- Experience assisting project management with a focus on delivering complex technical deployments on time and within scope
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams alike
- Relevant certifications or hands-on experience in defense sales
- Experience with international sales and customers
Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
