ORGANIZATION
Catie’s Closet gives children in need life-changing access to clothing and basic necessities so that they can thrive in school and in life. We have pioneered a highly effective in-school model, building free “stores” right within PK-12th grade schools that have poverty rates in excess of 50%. We also provide clothing and necessities, in collaboration with a variety of social service agencies, to support other children in need including refugees and foster children. Delivery
- Safely operate vehicles including Ford Transit, Extended Length, High-Top Van, to make deliveries and scheduled pickups from various locations including partner schools, vendors, and all Catie’s Closet Distribution Centers.
- Utilize route navigation apps and knowledge of Greater Boston area to plan and meet deadlines for scheduled deliveries and pickups.
- Assist in loading and unloading vehicles and securing cargo for transport.
- Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo utilizing the installed hydraulic ramp.
- Maintain a professional and positive demeanor with school representatives and other partners.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with the Distribution Center team to ensure effective operations.
- Assist in proper maintenance of company vehicles, overseeing regular maintenance checks and notifying Management of any issues; maintain clean vehicles.
- Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
Distribution Center Support
- Assist in general maintenance and upkeep to ensure the stock area is organized and clean.
- Assist with donation processing (sorting, folding and displaying inventory), shipping, and receiving as needed.
- Assist in the annual inventory requiring accuratly counting and recording all merchandise.
- Remove trash and recycling.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license for 6+ years and clean driving record.
- Experience as a professional company cargo van delivery driver with direct interaction with clients is required. Note: Ride-share and food delivery experience does not qualify for this position.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business practices, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to utilize GPS and navigation applications on your phone via bluetooth.
- Must have a reliable mobile phone for navigation and commuication.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 500 lbs.
- Ability to sort and fold clothing inventory.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to safely drive company vehicles for up to 6 hours per day.
- Ability to maintain valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 500 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time of up to 6 hours per day.
- Use various channels of communication to effectively communicate internally and externally throughout each day.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business practices, procedures and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
