IPS Industries is hiring Machine Operators for our Extrusion and Converting production lines at our Cerritos facility. If you have experience operating manufacturing equipment and want a consistent 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend off, we want to hear from you.
Operators in this role help produce high-quality packaging products used across retail, healthcare, hospitality, and other industries.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts (Days or Nights. No rotating shifts)
- 2-2-3 schedule
- Every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off
This schedule provides built-in extended time off while maintaining full-time hours.
What You'll Do
As a Machine Operator, you will operate, monitor, and adjust production equipment to ensure safe, efficient manufacturing and consistent product quality.
Core Responsibilities
- Set up, start, operate, monitor, and shut down production equipment
- Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to maintain product quality
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Record production output, scrap levels, downtime, and machine settings
- Follow production instructions, job tickets, and operating procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate equipment issues and support preventative maintenance efforts
- Support team members and assist with training when needed
Extrusion Operator Responsibilities
- Operate extrusion lines including extruders, dies, heaters, tanks, haul-offs, and auxiliary equipment
- Adjust motor speeds, temperature settings, and die configurations
- Support die changes and equipment setup when needed
Converting Operator Responsibilities
- Set up and operate converting equipment to produce finished packaging products
- Perform machine changeovers according to production schedules
- Run machines at established speed and efficiency targets
- Coordinate with helpers and team members to maintain production flow
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing or production experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn industrial equipment
- Ability to read job instructions and perform basic measurements
- Basic computer skills for production reporting
- Strong attention to quality and safety
- Bilingual ( English/Spanish speaking)
Preferred Experience
- Experience operating extrusion, converting, or packaging equipment
- Experience performing machine setups or adjustments
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Frequent bending, reaching, and machine adjustments
- Regular lifting up to 25 lbs. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Industrial manufacturing setting with moving machinery
- Exposure to noise, humidity, and production conditions
- Extrusion operations may involve elevated temperatures
