QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledge of the Grades K-5 mathematics curriculum and current best practices;
Knowledge of Common Core State Standards, and assessments, as well as current Maryland College and Career Ready Standards;
Knowledge of intervention strategies, goals and objectives of the curriculum;
Knowledge of teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction;
Knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning processes;
In-depth knowledge of processes, acquisition, assessment, and instruction, intervention strategies, goals and objectives of the curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction;
Demonstrated competence in developing and leading staff development sessions for a variety of audiences;
Strong coaching skills and ability to collaborate with others;
Ability to demonstrate competency in developing and leading staff development sessions for a variety of audiences;
Ability to collaborate with others with strong coaching skills;
Ability to work effectively with administration, colleagues, central office staff, students, parents and community; and
Excellent oral and communication skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree (Masters Degree preferred) from a regionally accredited college or university and five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Elementary Mathematics Certification and Advanced Professional Certificate appropriate to area of assignment issued by the Maryland State Department of Education.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
